The February 2012 edition of the Virtual Schools and Colleges Newsletter by the VISCED project was published today. This edition contains a variety of articles and reports related to virtual schools and colleges in Europe and elsewhere, such as current discussions and research into virtual schooling in Finland and the US. It also includes a call for input to study on key technologies that will support educational change, an announcement about the Next Generation Learning Conference 2012 in Sweden and VISCED's published reports such as reports on good practice and teacher training and much more. This newsletter is available online and subscribing is free.
The VISCED project, for which ATiT is responsible for dissemination, just released the first 2012 edition of Virtual Schools and Colleges Newsletter, which contains a variety of articles and reports related to the use of ICT in secondary and post-secondary education for 14-21 year olds in Europe and elsewhere.

The second edition of the Virtual Schools and Colleges Newsletter was published yesterday as an outcome of the European project VISCED which is carrying out a systematic review of virtual schools and colleges at international and national levels including a study into operational examples of fully virtual schools and colleges.
The June newsletter contains a variety of articles and reports related to the use of ICT in secondary and post-secondary education for 14-21 year olds in Europe and elsewhere. It includes a report on ICT take-up in Finnish schools, recommendations about relevant resources and events and information about projects and initiatives related to the concept of Virtual Schools.
VISCED partners met on 27 and 28 April 2011 in the accommodating MENON offices for a two-day meeting to discuss the progress on the main workpackages including the research activities. Partners discussed their research work and the public wiki which will contain all research results. Agreements were made about the classification of schools and colleges. Progress was made in setting up the International Advisory Committee and future project and committee meetings were discussed with a view on dissemination and network opportunities. During this productive meeting, the public launch of the VISCED website was also announced.
