The newsletter includes an article from Catalonian Television about education as a communication challenge, a feature article on MEDEA Awards' winner Pocket Anatomy which visualises the complexities of the human body and a continuation of the DIY series on 3D Video.

Flemish Schools access to media-rich learning resources and inspiration
Submitted Saturday, November 13, 2010 - 18:30INgeBEELD is an initiative of the CANON Cultuurcel of the Flemish Ministry of Education and Training and offers a range of highly innovative materials and support resources to teachers and learners in schools aimed at raising levels of media literacy across the curriculum.
An open day held on November 9 provided an opportunity to teachers and others interested in exploring the use of digital media in class to highlight INgeBEELD4 - a rich resource of ideas and resources that aim to move beyond an interpretation of media literacy as simply the adoption of basic media skills. This study day highlighted the new Vlaanderen in Beeld (Flanders in images and pictures) portal which offers rich media resources including the resources becoming available from the archives of VRT, the national broadcaster and included an inspirational talk by Paul Bottleberghs of Ambrosia's Tafel, keynote speaker at the forthcoming Media & Learning conference.
November issue of Media in Education Newsletter available

It includes articles on how documentary film is being used to tackle integration issues in a learning project with significant social impact and reveals an account of a typical day in the life of the connected media-savvy teacher such as Belgian teacher Lucas Van der paer.
This month's issue also highlights Federica, the web-learning multimedia-rich portal of the University of Naples Federico II, offers an introduction to webcasting and welcomes MEDEA's new national contact point in Luxembourg. It also includes plenty of other news items, notifications and announcements related to the use of media in education and training.
MEDEA2020 to support MEDEA Awards
Submitted Tuesday, October 26, 2010 - 15:18MEDEA2020 is a new project supported by the European Commission's Lifelong Learning programme which will build on the experience of the MEDEA:EU project in further expanding the work of the MEDEA Awards community.
This project will expand the reach of the MEDEA Awards by involving partners in Italy, France, Spain, Ireland and Poland and will provide the resources to support an ever-growing community of practice interested in the use of media for teaching and learning. Concrete outcomes include national workshops, the continuation of the annual Media & Learning Conference, multilingual newsletters and the support of an online community of practice as well as an online searchable database of relevant materials.
ATiT will lead this project which will begin officially on 1 November.
Media in Education Newsletter September's issue available now
